Staff Information

Xie Lian owns and runs Puji Garden. He renovated his own little house to have a shop in the front, living spaces in the back, and entry to his beautiful garden, where he cultivates all kinds of plants.
As a young teen he practiced sword dancing, and was widely praised for his talent. When his family went bankrupt and the family firm was overtaken by a larger corporation, Xie Lian used his talent to get a scholarship in theatre and arts, and went buskering for pocket money.
However, ten years ago, after getting his first leading role, he became a victim of assault by serious strangulation (reason currently unknown). Not only did it leave him a scar on his neck due to necessary surgery, he also had to give up professional dancing.

He used to own plenty of swords for dancing, but had to sell them in order to open his flower shop.

He picks wildflowers to cheer himself up when he is sad. He misplaced his hat, and hasn't been able to find it since.

Starting out the story, he has a major crush on San Lang, his frequent customer. He was hoping to advance their relationship on white day, but that went down the drain.

San Lang/ XXX XXXXX
Usually dressed in a crimson trench coat, this tall and handsome fella has a gun strapped to him in a holster across his chest and extra ammunition available at his hip, as if his confident smirk wasn’t enough already to make you want to kiss the floor. San Lang is flirty yet gentle and very happy around Xie Lian.

The first time he visited the shop, Xie Lian had not noticed the gun, too busy with picking the best of his purple asters for him, the first flower San Lang asked for.
When Xie Lian finally noticed San Lang carrying a weapon, he was too afraid of coming across as a snoop to ask about it. He figured it might be part of his job, whatever it is, and someday he might finally work up the courage to ask if he can take a closer look at it. Why San Lang only ever asks for one flower, he still has not figured out. His first guess was that San Lang buys a flower for a loved one every day due to the danger of his occupation.

Unbeknownst to Xie Lian, San Lang had actually been waiting outside Puji Garden on white day, hoping to surprise the sweet florist just as he would close up the shop for the day. However, sometime towards the evening, San Lang got an unexpected phone call which forced him away to deal with business. He hurried back, but the only sight that greeted him was a “closed” sign, an empty shop, and no signs of Xie Lian still being awake. He went home with a severe feeling of defeat that night and he spent a day or two sulking. He had worked hard on charming the lovely florist over the past year, yet saw his White Day plan go down the drain.

other than being a ERROR404 NOT FOUND, he practically owns all of Ghost City, a hotel and casino district in town. His apartment is at the top floor of the Paradise Mansion.

Shi Qingxuan
This little bubble of pure sunshine can light up anyone's day, and for that reason Xie Lian likes to think of him as a small daisy. He works at his brother's bank and helped fund Puji Garden. As a kid, he begged his brother to let him join the dance academy after seeing Xie Lian perform with a sword on stage for a charity event. He took up fan-dancing and was often seen chasing Xie Lian around like a little duckling. Xie Lian considers him his closest friend despite their age difference.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: HE XUAN AND YIN YU

He Xuan is a police officer that Hua Cheng seems to be working with somehow. He owes Hua Cheng money. He is currently investigating a bank for money laundering. Possibly the same bank whose fault it is that he is broke and needed to borrow money from Hua Cheng.

Yin Yu is the most important right-hand man of Hua Cheng. He is very overworked but also a workaholic. He has his own assistant with a big smile and curly hair. Yin Yu does his best to avoid him.

San Lang starts visiting and asks for a flower every day. 1st flower was a purple aster.

Present

21FEB- 02MAR2020: Puji Garden opens for online ordering (1st tweet). Xie Lian has misplaced his hat, he has yet to find it or replace it. He hears about and starts researching Hua Cheng, which he mistakes as a "Cheng Flower". He falls asleep at his desk. (see 03SEP2021 for a bonus picture of him confronting Hua Cheng with this).
Xie Lian takes care of flower orders, He looks for his hat, and puts up posters of a missing cat from the local neighborhood. He has back pain and a sore neck from sleeping on his desk again.

03MAR- 13MAR2020: Achievement unlocked: San Lang is a frequent!
Xie Lian greets his most frequent customer Hua Cheng, who comes in every day to ask for a flower. Xie Lian takes care of orders and his garden. While looking for his hat Xie Lian finds pictures from 20 years ago when he started dancing and shows San Lang. San Lang takes a picture of it. We see more days of the two greeting each other, and learn that Xie Lian quite likes sunflowers.

14. MAR-6APR2020:
Xie Lian was busy all day while secretly waiting and hoping for San Lang to visit on white day. He had picked a Gardenia for him and kept the shop open almost all night.

Achievement unlocked: Sunflower emoji (Fafa's white day)
San Lang waited for the shop to close in order to surprise Xie Lian, but He Xuan called him for help. When he came back the shop was closed.
San Lang's occupation is dangerous and somehow related to He Xuan. He Xuan is indebted to San lang.

Xie Lian is sad, he fears San Lang is in a relationship with someone else. He loses confidence and the cloud of sadness emerges. He feels lonely.
Shi QingXuan visits and tries to cheer Xie Lian up. He takes him out for lunch. On his way home Xie Lian starts crying watching other couples in the park and is reminded of his own loneliness. He falls asleep on his porch.

06PR- 20APR2020:
San Lang finally returns after Xie Lian opens the shop for the last late afternoon hours. San Lang asks for a purple hyacinth (forgiveness)
Xie Lian is such a chaotic mess he dismisses San Lang as if he were a random customer. San Lang walks out disheartened.
Xie Lian panics, and at the last minute decides that he has nothing to lose. He runs after San Lang, and confesses, hoping San Lang understands what a gardenia with a yellow middle means (secret love). He asks San Lang to give his answer the next day by presenting him a flower too.

TIME SKIP

21APR-07JUN2020:
since Xie Lian's confession they have been texting and calling each other; been seeing each other after working hours; been on walks/dates together. They go on a special date to a new Café (Tian Tian). We learn that He Xuan is an officer, Yin Yu works for Hua Cheng.
During the date, San Lang flirts a lot, but always waits for Xie Lian to respond to his advantages before he moves forward. He makes very good use of.. a cherry... When he learns that Xie Lian likes the place he calls Yin Yu and tells him to place it under his "jurisdiction" and protection.
San Lang spends the night at Puji Garden and they are comfortable with holding hands, giving shy kisses, innocent night cuddles.

23JUN -26JUN2020
the day after their date, Xie Lian wakes up San Lang who is having a nightmare of the past about the night he lost his eye.

8.JUN-22JUN2020: Xie Lian worries about San Lang's birthday. Shi Qinxuan is the one to suggest Xie Lian celebrates HC's birthday in lingerie (Part not visible due to changes in storyline).On San Lang's birthday, Xie Lian is still shy, but with the right kind of encouragement, he is much more confident. They end up in quite a session of oral sex.
Xie Lian wakes up naked in bed to the smell of San Lang cooking breakfast. It had been Xie Lian's plan, but San Lang woke up earlier.
Hints. Xie Lian has a scar on his neck. He hugs San lang from behind and complains that he wanted to cook. San Lang hints that Xie Lian already took the lead last night.

27JUN-14JUL2020
Xie Lian's back is once again hurting. Hua Cheng helps him and then asks him out for Xie Lian's birthday.
San Lang takes Xie Lian on a fancy date at Ghost City

01JAN-24.12FEB 2021
Xie Lian is meeting with his wonderful friend Shi Qingxuan, who asks him about his recent date in Ghost City with Hua Cheng. Xie Lian tells him about the wonderful night, they went to the hotel and event center Paradise Mansion, had dinner, and listened to jazz all evening. Hua Cheng also took him dancing, even though Hua Cheng himself has two left feet. Luckily Hua Cheng is wonderful when it comes to slow-dancing. They danced to the song "The nearness of you" (linked under tweet). At the back of the cafe, someone creepy is listening to their conversation and thinking of something that happened 10 years ago.

27.AUG-7.SEP2020 Xie Lian shows San Lang the red asters which have started to bloom. He grew them from the seeds of the flower San Lang gave him in answer to the white gardenia.

12.SEP-24.OKT2020 Xie Lian is watering his flowers when San Lang sneaks up on him to greet him. Xie Lian, in surprise, splashes him with water. He rushes to get towels, meanwhile, San Lang strips down. San Lang tricks him to agree to a shower and gets his revenge. The shower turns hot as Xie Lian asks him to explore his body.
Xie Lian also suggests combing San Lang's hair, and San Lang enjoys being spoiled, asking Xie Lian to also braid his hair. San Lang spends the night in order for his clothes to dry. Xie Lian likes being the big spoon.

22.DEC-25.DEC2020 Hua Cheng discovers the secret powers of the mistletoe

13.FEB-19FEB2021
Xie Lian and Hua Cheng spent the new year together. They go on a date to a local market to eat delicious food and send out a lantern together. Someone creepy lingers not far behind and is clearly not satisfied with the presence of Hua Cheng.

20FEB- 28FEB2021
It's night, and Xie Lian is spending his first time (and has been spending his first time wink wink) at Hua Cheng's apartment. Hua Cheng's phone rings, Yinyu has urgent business Hua Cheng needs to sort out. Reluctantly Hua Cheng leaves.

01MAR- 092021
Xie Lian wakes up alone but clearly sated. He blushes heavily at the thought of last night's activities. Hua Cheng has left him a note that is very hard to read. But he gets it in the end. When Hua Cheng reminds him of what happened the night before Xie Lian decides that a bath (or maybe a cold shower) is a good idea. Hua Cheng has prepared a bath for him complete with candles and flower petals.

22APR- 30AUG2021
After getting dressed, Xie Lian decides to water all of Hua Cheng's plants. He walks into his office and sees a giant promotional poster of himself sword dancing 10 years ago. At first, he remembers happy times with his friends up until the premiere. But as he starts thinking he cannot stop and soon he feels as if hands are closing in around his neck. He recognizes that he is having a panic attack and tries to call for help.
On the other side of town, we see Hua Cheng having caught someone sneaking around Puji Garden. He Xuan gets paced from Hua Cheng's office and Hua Cheng knows immediately something is wrong. He calls back and helps Xie Lian over the phone. As soon as he arrives back, Xie Lian throws himself in his arms, and Hua Cheng keeps him safe in his arms.
